The almost backless dress

I can't believe how big Fiona is getting, 3 1/2 already!

Last night I went to Cultures and Cocktails at the San Diego Museum of Art.  In theory it's a super idea, have a cocktail, enjoy some art.  But lately the events have been really crowded and loud, it's almost like a club scene, or maybe I'm just getting older and have less patience for crowds!  Regardless, I got to spend quality time with some of my favorite chicks and had an excuse to wear this dress that I picked up recently from Zara.
It's right up my alley, bold color, bold prints and the open back is so pretty.  This dress will be on my repeat for me as the weather keeps warming up.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Perfect Penny Lane Flowy Dress

I love prints, I love color and I love flowy dresses.  That pretty much sums it up.  This dress is super easy to wear and the tassels are fun, right?  Being able to put on one piece of clothing and be out the door is kind of my thing lately.  I've worn it in the fall with booties or more recently with strappy, tasseled heels, also kind of my thing lately.  In my opinion, you can never have too many flowy dresses.

Coachella Style In Theory

I'll be honest... I was just as excited to check out the fashion at Coachella as I was the music.  A couple weekends ago my girlfriends and I took a mini three day trip out to Indio, CA.  It was a phenomenal three days of live music, good eats and beer tents.  Leading up to Coachella I was checking out some blogs and posts to see what people would be wearing, and I think I was a little misled!  I saw lots of people looking really cute in long maxi's or wearing wedges, heeled booties etc..But I think the images I'd been seeing were of people at VIP Coachella events.
I brought this amazing Free People dress thinking I'd be kicking it kind of leisurely with a cocktail in hand, but then reality set in when we got to Indio.  It was super super hot, too hot for long sleeves and the lineup of music goes all day, from noon until midnight, so if you want to see more than half the bands on your lineup you're going to be hustling big time across a humongous field with backpack in tow, carrying waters, sunscreen, snacks, scarves for the dust etc..Sadly, this dress didn't make an appearance during the three days we were there.  But I still absolutely love it.  It's fun, flirty, floral and of course has embroidery.  My favorite.  I paired it recently with a wooden heel that has just as much detailing.  This dress will be in my rotation all summer.

Easy Breezy White Weekend Dress

So... I bought a camera off of Craigslist recently, and clearly I, nor my husband (who took the photos) have learned how to use it!  If we had, you'd be able to see the pretty red embroidery on this dress.  I can't get enough of embroidery these days.  (top photo from cell phone) It's such an easy dress to put on, be out the door and feel put together in.  Now that my kids (my son who is almost 5 and daughter who is 3) are no longer babies, I'm trying to put some effort into my weekend style.  I was in such a rut for the longest time.  But this dress makes me happy, it'll be worn over and over this spring and summer.
