The Most Versatile Item in your Closet

This is a look from last week.  The days have been a tad chillier here in San Diego, and for me, I've found the best layering piece this season to be the tuxedo style blazer.  I'm in love with the details of this blazer, the faux leather trim and satin cuffed sleeves make it a standout amongst the traditional black blazer.  Pair it with jeans and a tee and you add instant polish.  I grabbed this one from Ann Taylor last year but you can find a similar option at TopShop and it's only $30. Check it out here: Top Shop Faux Leather Blazer

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

LWD Little white dress

I recently picked up this LWD from Ann Taylor LOFT for... wait for it... $19!  Such a score.
There's a palm print lace overlay which I'm really loving.  I wore this for work but this dress easily transitions to night.  I was feeling like I wanted a little contrast so I went with black strappy heels to keep the look from being too monochrome. Though I do love a good head to toe neutral look.

Happy Thursday and thanks for reading.

Anything but basic black sheath

Every morning I think I'm going to get up earlier than the kids and get myself ready for work before they wake up.  On occasion this happens.  But most mornings my son has usually found his way into our bed around 5 and we all fall back asleep a little bit longer.  There's nothing better than all the morning cuddles to start the day.  But this then means I'm a little bit late getting up and scrambling to find something to wear.  On those days it's best to put on a black sheath and heels and be out the door for the work.  I've had this Ann Taylor sheath for more than a few years and it never disappoints.  A few pleats in the front so it's a little forgiving and the pockets give it a casual cool look.  One of my favorites.
