So I'm a little late to the game with a Best of 2015 post but wanted to reflect on the year. These were my "best nine" from Instagram, in terms of likes, which is kind of fun to see. I started my blog in 2015 as a personal creative outlet and to sort of challenge myself to get out of a style rut I felt I was in, after having two kids. 2015 was a year of learning and cultivating new, unexpected relationships. I had no idea how much community I would find in blogging and posting to Instagram. It really has been a unique experience connecting with local creatives in so many different lines of work, which I never would have done had I not started blogging.
My goals for this blog and the coming year are to post more consistently and to bring content that allows me to connect with more people, who may share the same interests as me. I'm entering the new year feeling content, but also excited for the all the possibilities out there. Cheers to 2016!

Flowy dresses and knee high boots- I'm pretty sure this combo will continue to be present in my wardrobe, it's just so easy to throw on a flowy dress and get going. Also, flowy dresses with basic ankle strap heels, these black ones are by Ann Taylor and get so much wear. I own this basic ankle strap in black and gray, I've learned they'll take you so far in your wardrobe. My OTK boots were an investment piece from last year, they're Michael Kors. On the flip side, fitted dresses in basic colors. As I get a bit older I'm realizing I can get more wear out of a basic silhouettes and neutral colors, which hasn't always been the case for me, as I love color and prints. this year though I think I'll be sticking more closely to neutrals in classic shapes. This basic black fitted midi with knee highs feels casual but I bit dressed up at the same time.
Denim and more denim. Last year was the year of denim on denim. I learned to pair my denim by playing with different colors and textures. The denim dress also came back into style. The one pictured is a trendy lace up dress I picked up at Forever 21. I try not to bust the bank on items that may be in and out of style quickly. But it's super cute and I got a lot of wear out of it during summer and fall. This year I'll be eyeing a sleeveless denim midi dress in a looser cut. You can never have too many neutral booties, right? I purchased a neutral pair, pictured, bottom center, from Elie Tahari this year and they've quickly become a go to in my closet. They pair so well with dresses and denim. I purchased mine from DSW and can't seem to find them online anymore, but something similar like these Free People booties would do the trick: Free People bootie
In terms of my closet, I just did a huge purge of clothing that no longer served a purpose. It's been so difficult for me to let go of pieces that maybe I paid too much money for an only wore once, or pieces that carry some kind of memory. The list goes on and on, but I've slowly been purging and it feels great. If I purchase anything this year it will definitely be higher quality pieces that I can get a lot of wear out of. I'd like to get more creative with the pieces I already own, it's amazing when you clear out your closet and can actually see what's in there, that you start to see how you can mix and match what's already there.
